With defensive options limited due to injuries and illness, ten Hag surprised by starting 19-year-old Willy Kambwala, highlighting the difference between managerial decisions and personal feelings.

Born in Kinshasa, Congo, he moved to France at a young age and represented France at the U-16 level.
