Tottenham have to thin their squad this summer.
The north London club have been told directly by their manager that changes need to be made, and player sales seem almost inevitable.
There are a whole host of players who will leave Spurs this summer, returning loanees such as Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon will almost certainly go, while some more high-profile players will likely go.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing who could leave Spurs this summer, and he’s suggested that Richarlison is a player we will see leave Tottenham this summer.
Richarlison to leave Tottenham
Jones spoke about the ‘amazing’ player and his future.
“I think when you look at the current squad you can see nine or 10 go. I think you’ll see Richarlison go, you’ll see Hojbjerg go, people like Reguilon, Dier, Ryan Sessegnon is leaving Tottenham, Ndombele, Gil, that’s eight or nine there and they will all get upgraded,” Jones said.
Selling Richarlison is harsh
Richarlison hasn’t quite lived up to expectations at Spurs yet, but selling him at this juncture would be very harsh.
The striker has been, by-and-large, poor for Spurs over the past two years, but over the past six months or so, he has been as good as he ever has been.
Described as ‘amazing’ on his best days, Richarlison is Brazil’s number nine for a reason, and it’s hard to justify Spurs selling the attacker at this moment in time.
Of course, every player has their price, but unless a huge offer comes in for Richarlison, it’s tough to see the logic behind letting a player of this talent go just as he seems to be finding his feet and hitting a bit of form.
Richarlison may still have something to offer at Spurs, but it sounds as though he could go.
