Wilfred Ndidi is set to endure a three-month absence from the field, as confirmed by Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca.
Ndidi, who is already nursing an injury, has been absent from the Foxes’ recent two matches and has withdrawn from Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to the setback.
This comes as a blow for City, as Ndidi has played a crucial role in their successful campaign, where they currently enjoy a 10-point lead at the summit of the second-tier standings.
The manager mentioned that he is anticipating a more comprehensive evaluation of the injury sustained by the former Genk midfielder.
Maresca informed reporters, ”Probably for Wilf, it will be a long time,”
“It could be three months. It looks like a muscular problem, but an important one, so we will see in the next hours but the situation for Wilf is probably the clearest one.”
