Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson was seen in Villarreal’s dressing room a day after the Blues’ 4-1 loss to Newcastle.
The Chelsea player, who moved from Villarreal for £30 million ($38m) in the summer, went to Spain shortly after Chelsea’s 4-1 loss to Newcastle United. He attended Villarreal’s match against Osasuna in La Liga, which Villarreal won 3-1. Afterwards, he was seen in their dressing room, congratulating his ex-teammates.
Mauricio Pochettino was extremely upset when his team allowed four goals for the third match in a row. He called it their worst performance this season. He firmly said his players couldn’t afford a break after the bad game at St. James’ Park.
However, according to The Standard, Jackson’s visit to Spain was arranged and authorized by Chelsea before the disappointing outcome against Newcastle. Despite a challenging start in England, the Senegalese striker improved in recent months. Before Saturday’s match, he scored four goals in his last two Premier League games, including a hat-trick against Tottenham.
Sitting in 10th place in the league, the Blues are facing a tough time. They’ll try to bounce back with a win against Brighton on Sunday. Despite his recent visit to Villarreal, Jackson is expected to start for Pochettino’s team in the upcoming match.
