Victor Osimhen: Coach Peseiro Applauds Decision Amid Al Hilal Offers

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, commends Victor Osimhen’s prudent decision to stay at Napoli despite enticing offers from Saudi club Al Hilal.

Osimhen played a crucial role in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season, netting an impressive 26 goals in 32 league appearances. Despite Al Hilal’s tempting proposals, Osimhen chose to remain with Napoli, a choice that delighted Coach Peseiro.

“At first, he considered leaving, but then he opted to stay and give his best to Napoli. I’m thrilled to see him continue to pursue significant European goals,” Peseiro expressed.

Peseiro further emphasized, “Victor is genuinely content in Napoli. For his development, staying in Europe and showcasing his talent in the Champions League is unquestionably the right path. He’s young and has ample time to exhibit his potential,” as conveyed to Italian news outlet, Gazzetta dello Sport.

Peseiro also acknowledged the allure of lucrative offers, stating, “I understand that when presented with certain opportunities, one might waver: two seasons in Arabia may seem more financially rewarding than ten in Europe. However, money isn’t everything. Victor has significantly improved his skills in Italy.”

Victor Osimhen’s outstanding performances have earned him nominations for the 2023 Men’s Ballon d’Or and the FIFA Best Men’s award. Additionally, he is the frontrunner to secure the 2023 African Footballer of the Year award.
