‘Very surprised’: Ian Wright shocked after what Roy Keane has just said about Sir Alex Ferguson at Man United

Ian Wright was ‘very surprised’ after hearing Roy Keane’s latest comments on Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
It’s well-documented that Roy Keane and Sir Alex Ferguson didn’t leave things on the best of terms after 12 years at Old Trafford together.
Keane was Ferguson’s go-to man for many years and he captained Manchester United between 1997 and 2005.
The Irishman scooped 15 trophies under Ferguson’s guidance but left Old Trafford abruptly back in November 2005 after criticising his teammates in an interview with MUTV. The midfielder left by mutual consent and hasn’t spoken to his former boss since.
Now, Keane has made fresh comments on Ferguson, which have left Arsenal legend Ian Wright surprised.

Keane makes ‘surprise’ Ferguson comments
Speaking on Stick to Football, Keane was discussing his greatest managers of the Premier League era.
To Wright’s surprise, the United legend now ranks Pep Guardiola above Ferguson following his latest title win with Manchester City.
“I’ll go with Pep,” Keane said.
“I’m very surprised at that,” Wright responded. “I’m just thinking of the times with you and Fergie at Man United, when it was going to so great, when you lot were so dominant – there must have been times.”
“It was amazing, yeah,” Keane admitted. “Absolutely amazing. Put him [Sir Alex] number two. Mourinho, Klopp, Wenger. They’re five amazing managers I have huge respect for.”

Guardiola and Ferguson’s records compared
Ferguson remains very much the most successful manager of the Premier League era having scooped 13 titles at Old Trafford.
The Scotsman lifted a total of 30 trophies at United and also delivered a treble back in 1998/99.
Guardiola matched the treble achievement last season as he guided City to their first Champions League crown.
The Spaniard has now delivered six Premier League titles and scooped a total of 17 trophies at the Etihad Stadium.
There may be a debate to have further down the line but in our view, Guardiola has some way to go before he can be considered as a greater Premier League manager than Ferguson.
