Nigeria Faces Tough Draw in 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

In the lead-up to the highly anticipated 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been placed in Pot 2 during the draw seedings, as revealed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on its official channels.

This draw sets the stage for a potentially challenging group stage for Nigeria, with the possibility of facing formidable opponents like defending champions Senegal, tournament hosts Cote d’Ivoire, as well as strong teams like Morocco, Algeria, and Egypt.

Nigeria shares Pot 2 with other African football giants, Ghana and Cameroon, ensuring that the battles on the pitch will be intense. The competition in Pot 2 is further intensified with the inclusion of Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burkina Faso.

Pot 3 features teams such as South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania. These squads will be looking to make their mark on the tournament and advance to the knockout stages.

The draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday, the 12th of January, setting the stage for an exciting tournament that will run from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
