West Ham United are set to reveal their new Umbro kit designs for the 2024/25 season in the coming weeks, which will be the look they rock for the campaign.

The Hammers have had their fair share of iconic kits over the years, with campaigns that have seen plenty of success.

West Ham have donned the famous claret and blue since 1903, moving away from the old dark blue theme they previously opted for.

With so many impressive designs in the history books, Umbro will have a challenge on their hands trying to top some of the very best with the new kits that will be on display in the Premier League for next season.

So with that said, TBR Football takes a look at the top ten West Ham kits of all time, ranked.

Umbro’s design for the 2022/23 home kit makes its way into the top ten West Ham kits of all time, with a sleek look to it.

The usual claret is complemented by blue on the collar and cuffs of the shirt, while a rough blue and white pattern is seen on the shoulders too.

It is a shirt that will have many fond memories, having played a part in the Europa Conference League triumph.

A classic home shirt is next on the list with the 1997/98 design made by old kit manufacturer Pony.

The Hammers shirt has blue located on the side of the jersey and the collar, which is large in this design, in line with many designs in the 1990s.

With the lack of a shirt sponsor, it cements the design as a slick and clean retro option all these years on.

Another classic from the early 2000s is the 2005-2007 home kit, which has the light blue located on the sleeves with white highlights.

The back of the neck features blue once again, while the crew neck collar choice stands out with the white triangle that imitates the look of a v-neck.

The first season in this kit saw the Hammers return to the Premier League while making the FA Cup final.

Next up is another classic home kit, though this time it’s the 2010/11 design made by Macron.

This shirt included much more blue to match the claret, with the shoulders and collar showing off the traditional colour combination.

While it was a lovely kit design, it didn’t have many great memories on the pitch as the club were plunged back into the Championship, while a semi-final defeat in the League Cup and a quarter-final exit in the FA Cup followed.

6 – West Ham 2020/21 away kit

West Ham’s away kits have often featured the claret and blue combination flipped on its head to blue and claret.

The 2020/21 design did this but with a twist as the claret came in the form of two stripes across the chest region, while the cuffs and collars were a muted black colour.

It makes the design pop, while Umbro clearly matches the look and feel of a West Ham away kit.

This changed strip played a part in the Hammers rising back to the top, with David Moyes guiding the club to a sixth-placed finish in 2020/21.

Another design from the 2020/21 season follows in the top ten, with the third kit just pipping the away kit to fifth place.

A black and gold combination can rarely go wrong on a football shirt and Umbro have managed to hit the mark with its design choice.

The decision to opt for a black design all over with gold highlights represents a sleek and classy look for the Hammers.

Once again, it featured in the season when West Ham announced themselves back at the top of the Premier League.

The 2022/23 third kit ranks fourth in the all-time West Ham rankings, with a white base colour and a bold orange and red pattern at the bottom of the shirt.

Umbro’s design is said to be inspired by the Ironworks that led to the formation of the football club over 100 years ago.

Supporters will have fond memories of the shirt too, given that it was used when West Ham won the Europa Conference League final and lifted the trophy.

The first entry in the top three West Ham kits of all time is the 2023/24 away kit.

The whiteout design, including the change for the club crest and kit manufacturer logo, gives it a subtle look.

Claret features on the shirt, with the cuffs and crew neck collar featuring the traditional West Ham colour.

Overall it creates a muted but clean-looking shirt that would fit almost any era of Hammers kit releases.

Another kit to file under the simple but effective category is the 2022/23 away kit that Umbro released.

An all-black design is joined by sparks of colour on the cuffs of the shirt, though it hardly detracts from the overall look.

It’s a kit design that was worn on the way to West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph and is yet another that doesn’t need many patterns crammed in to look good.

Taking the number one spot is West Ham’s home kit from the 2015/16 season.

It was Umbro’s first campaign with the Hammers and they produced a classic with their nod towards a farewell for the famous Boleyn Ground.

Claret features as usual, with the crew neck collar and sleeves being the location for the usual blue highlights.

However, it’s the gold crest and shirt sponsor that seal the deal, all in a campaign where West Ham sealed seventh and moved stadiums.
