Everton managed to snatch a late point against Fulham at the weekend.

Sean Dyche’s side trailed the Goodison Park clash but Beto equalised in the fourth minute of stoppage time to move Everton onto nine points for the campaign.

The Toffees endured a torrid start to the season but they’re now starting to find some rhythm – which is keeping the pressure off Dyche for now.

Speaking after the Fulham game, Theo Walcott urged Everton to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin this Janaury despite interest from Newcastle United.

Theo Walcott urges Everton to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Speaking on BBC Match of the Day, Theo Walcott urged his former club to keep Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of their move to Bramley Docks.

“You wouldn’t want to lose someone like Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the club, going into the new stadium.

“He’s a player where he plays to Everton’s strengths at times, but I think he needs a partner just to help him out.”

Alan Shearer added: “I think it’s a lonely role he’s asked to play. Certainly for him now he’s getting a run of games now, there’s not so many injuries.

“His goal record isn’t great – it’s one in four he’s got – but it’s not as if he misses a stack of chances.

“If you’ve got him, you have to play to a specific way. You have to get balls up and you have to get balls into the box, because that’s where he’s a big threat.”

Newcastle still interested in Calvert-Lewin

TBR reported earlier this month that Newcastle remain interested in Calvert-Lewin ahead of the Janaury transfer window.

Chelsea are also still keeping tabs on his situation, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

There’s been no movement on a renewal thus far, meaning he can agree a pre-contract with clubs this winter.

Calvert-Lewin earns £100k-a-week, as per Capology.
