Manchester United might have had a poor season overall but Jamie O’Hara says they at least have one player who can do something most others can’t.

Erik ten Hag’s side are facing off against Arsenal today knowing they can derail the Gunners’ title hopes and in turn, hand the title to rivals Manchester City.

For United, the only thing left to play for really is the FA Cup, albeit a win would put them level with Chelsea and Newcastle above them.

The United players, in general, have put in below par performances all season long. The likes of Antony, Casemiro, and more have all failed to deliver, while Marcus Rashford has gone off the boil completely.

But speaking about the art of defending in general across the league, TalkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara has said that United do actually have the one player who can still defend properly.

Jamie O’Hara praises Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Speaking on TalkSPORT about modern-day full-backs and defending in general, O’Hara had praise for Untied defender Wan-Bissaka.

“The art of defending has gone out of the game. It’s all about playing out from the back,” O’Hara said.

“The only one who I think has still got old-school defending qualities is Wan-Bissaka. One v one, old school proper defender. Stands you up, knows how to defend.”

Wan-Bissaka has been a big miss for Manchester United

Man United’s injury problems have been well documented this season and there is no doubt that Aaron Wan-Bissaka being out has hindered them.

As O’Hara says here, he does have the ability to one v one attackers and mark them out of the game and that’s a rarity in the modern game.

Wan-Bissaka has missed two large chunks of the season and only managed 17 starts in the league all year.

However, he is now back and has started the last seven. Quite remarkably, United haven’t kept a single clean sheet in those seven starts, so one could argue he isn’t doing his job all that well.

But United’s defence in general has been an issue and it’s hard to pin the blame solely on the £45m signing from Palace.
