Arsenal are gearing up for an exciting finish to the Premier League season with the title still very much up for grabs.

The Gunners currently sit top of the table on 83 points from 36 games, while Manchester City are second on 82 points from 35 games.

Arsenal have done incredibly well to return to form after those defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich a few weeks ago.

However, in recent days, speculation over the future of one of the Gunners’ most high-profile players has emerged.

Gabriel Jesus has been a starter for most of the season when fit, but he has played for just 22 minutes in his last three league games.

The 25-year-old also hasn’t started a Champions League game since November and came on as a sub in both games against Bayern Munich.

This has led to speculation emerging over Jesus’ future, with TBR Football reporting that Saudi clubs are mulling over a summer approach.

However, Arteta has now suggested that Jesus remains firmly in his plans, saying “the moment will come” in which the Brazilian will become a regular starter once again.

Arteta told ESPN Brasil ahead of the Manchester United clash: “They (Jesus and Martinelli) are happy with where we are as a team, but of course everyone here wants to play more.

“But they are decisions, things that I feel at every moment. Both were super important in the season. And that’s life: When he gets the chance, he has to speak and show it on the pitch.

“He (Jesus) played a lot here. With me he played a lot. And it has been very important.

“But he suffered an injury, which saw him lose momentum, the team got into gear and we have to respect that.

“But that is part of it, the moment will come when he will get an opportunity and will be important again”.

Arsenal must not part company with Gabriel Jesus this summer

Gabriel Jesus was one of two signings in 2023 – along with Oleksandr Zinchenko – that helped propel Arsenal back into title contention after many years.

Although he has his limitations as a striker, his all-round game is an asset to the team and, as such, the Gunners shouldn’t consider selling him.

Arteta certainly doesn’t seem concerned. It’s difficult to keep a big squad of top talents happy, and as things stand, it’s Jesus’ turn to be out of the team.

No doubt the ‘really dangerous‘ forward will be back in the starting XI soon and this will all be forgotten.
