Former France international William Gallas has said Tottenham Hotspur fans would rather see their team miss out on Champions League qualification next season than watch Arsenal win the Premier League title.
Arsenal currently top the league table and are just one point ahead of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
City will play their game in hand against Spurs today (Tuesday) and defeat for them will put Arsenal in the driving seat, going into the final day of the season on Sunday.
Spurs are still in the race for Champions League football after fourth-placed Aston Villa played 3-3 with Liverpool on Monday night.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s clash at the Tottenham stadium Gallas, who played for both Spurs and Arsenal expects Ante Postecoglou’s side to go for the three points.
“As a former player, losing a game never crossed my mind,” the former Chelsea defender said. “We know Tottenham are big rivals with Arsenal, but even that rivalry won’t change the players’ mind. It’s the fans who will think about it, I can understand that.

“We know the Tottenham fans are crazy, they would prefer to lose out on Champions League football by losing to Man City, just so they don’t see Arsenal lift the Premier League trophy, but the Tottenham players are not born in north London, so their mentalities will be completely different.”
City are aiming to become the first side to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
On their part, Arsenal are eyeing a first league title since 2004.
