Sky journalist shares intriguing update involving Arsenal and Ademola Lookman

Arsenal look set to end the summer transfer window with a flourish as Edu and Mikel Arteta look to add the finishing touches to their squad.
In terms of incomings, the Gunners have signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna and are now set to add Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino to their ranks.
Arsenal are reportedly also closing in on a deal for Eddie Nketiah to join Nottingham Forest, while Charlie Patino is joining Deportivo La Coruna.
Now, Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg has reported that the Gunners have positioned themselves to pounce on a forward whose club is in talks with a rival suitor.

Arsenal closely monitoring Ademola Lookman situation
The player in question is Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, who Arsenal have been heavily linked with over the past few days.
Alfredo Pedulla recently reported that the Gunners were plotting a bid of €50million (£42million) plus Kiwior to sign Lookman.
And though the Nigeria international appears to have agreed a move to Paris Saint-Germain, talks between La Dea and PSG aren’t going as smoothly.
Plettenberg has reported that negotiations over a permanent deal between the two Champions League clubs are stalling.
And Arsenal are “closely monitoring the situation in case the deal falls through”, added the transfer insider.

The latter stages of the transfer window often bring quick developments, and situations can change at the drop of a hat.
Arsenal have long been linked with a new forward, and Lookman is a very versatile and proven attacker
Last season, the 26-year-old played as a No. 9, on the left flank and as a second striker, and can also play on the right wing.
Lookman is a creative player with an eye for goal, as evidenced by the Europa League final, in which he scored a superb hat-trick.
The “unbelievable” talent also has Premier League experience, so in theory it shouldn’t take him long to get used to the football in the English top flight.
