“Sir Jim Ratcliffe has secured a deal to acquire 25% of Manchester United from the Glazer family.

While the formal commencement of his role awaits completion of the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors test, Ratcliffe, accompanied by INEOS officials including Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc, visited Old Trafford on Tuesday.

The purpose was to initiate the settling-in process and conduct evaluations of the club. Pending Premier League approval, both Brailsford and Blanc are slated to assume roles at United.

Given the anticipated eight-week duration of the Premier League process, Ratcliffe and his team plan a series of meetings at Old Trafford and the Carrington training ground.”

“Until the Premier League grants approval for INEOS’ involvement, the existing Manchester United leadership retains control over football-related decisions at Old Trafford.

However, the purchase agreement documentation outlines that United must consult with INEOS on all business matters before the minority takeover is officially concluded.

One immediate decision on the agenda involves the future of winger Jadon Sancho, who has been sidelined from the first-team since his public disagreement with manager Erik ten Hag in September.

Discussions with Borussia Dortmund regarding Sancho’s potential loan move are underway, and all plans will be subject to consultation with INEOS officials until the share purchase reaches its completion.”
