Sevilla are on the lookout for their sixth manager in less than two years, having parted ways with Quique Sanchez Flores at the end of the season. A replacement has already been identified, and is reportedly close to being announced.

As per Marca, Sevilla are in advanced talks with Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta, who announced last week that he himself would be leaving Las Palmas at the season’s end. After Los Nervionenses missed out on Jagoba Arrasate to Mallorca, the former Barcelona B head coach was instilled as their top candidate, and they are now close to agreeing terms.

Negotiations between Sevilla and Garcia Pimienta have been ongoing for the last two days, and agreement is said to be very close. Both parties hope to have everything wrapped up by the end of this week, so that work can be started for next season’s squad planning.

Garcia Pimienta would be a fine appointment for Sevilla. Las Palmas were very good in the 2023-24 season, despite a 14-match winless run to end the campaign. A new era in abound at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
