Rio Ferdinand Had To Exit The TNT Sports Studio During The Paris Saint-Germain vs Newcastle United match

Rio Ferdinand departed the TNT Sports studio during Tuesday evening’s 1-1 draw between Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain.

While the Manchester United legend was part of the pre-match buildup at Parc des Princes, he was notably absent after the match. Jermaine Jenas and Ally McCoist took charge of analyzing the eventful night in France.

Following discussions about United’s upcoming match against Galatasaray in Turkey on Wednesday, presenter Laura Woods provided an update on Ferdinand’s location.

Laura Woods stated, “Rio would have joined us to discuss Manchester United, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to release him. He’s fine, no need to worry.”

United currently sit at the bottom of Group A, and a loss to Galatasaray would result in their elimination from the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Newcastle’s future remains uncertain following a controversial handball decision that went against them in the closing moments of the match.

Alexander Isak’s goal in the first half appeared to secure Newcastle’s position in second place in Group F.

Yet, PSG received a penalty in the 98th minute. Following a decision that Tino Livramento had handled an Ousmane Dembele cross.

Initially, referee Szymon Marciniak disregarded protests from PSG players, but VAR stepped in to award PSG a penalty.

Kylian Mbappe took the penalty, scoring against Nick Pope to secure a point for Luis Enrique’s team.

Jenas, a former Newcastle player, expressed his outrage over the decision in a passionate rant.

He exclaimed, “What is Livramento meant to do with his arms? Wrap them round his back?”

“I’m fuming. The players threw everything at it and it should have been one of those historic wins. Newcastle have been robbed.”

Newcastle’s fate is no longer in their control heading into matchday six in two weeks.

They must secure a victory against AC Milan and rely on PSG to lose points against Borussia Dortmund. A team that has already secured qualification.
