Both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United could compete to sign a Brazilian striker who impressed in the Champions League this season.

Ange Postecoglou would certainly benefit from the addition of a new striker given Harry Kane wasn’t replaced last year.

And when it comes to Newcastle, Eddie Howe will perhaps need to replace Callum Wilson if he departs, hoping that any new striker will be playing alongside Alexander Isak rather than instead of him.

Isak, who Newcastle are adamant is going nowhere, has been strongly linked with Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal, who look set for another big summer of spending.

As always, the striker market looks like it will be hotly-fought, with both Manchester United and Chelsea also thought to be searching for options.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney will perhaps be a name linked with all the clubs above, a striker who seems ready for the next step at 28-years-old.

But according to GIVEMESPORT, both Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in a slightly younger alternative.

24-year-old Porto striker Evanlison has enjoyed a ton of progress this season, and the Brazilian is now attracting a lot of attention.

According to the report mentioned, Evanilson has become a prime target for Spurs, a striker who has caught the eye of Postecoglou.

The Brazilian scored 24 goals in 41 games for Porto across all competitions this season, including four goals in the Champions League.

Of course, that isn’t a record that will go under the radar and therefore Newcastle could provide stiff competition towards any approach.

Newcastle were said to have been interested in a January move having scouted Evanilson extensively.

And if Tottenham do make a move to sign the £60m-rated striker then Newcastle could well make their play.

Regardless of outgoings it feels as if Spurs need an addition, someone who can allow Son Heung-min and Richarlison to return to the wing, arguably where they fare best.

And in Newcastle’s case it will perhaps be a situation of waiting to see how their summer evolves, with the club perhaps prioritising other positions unless Isak or Wilson should go.

But either way, Evanilson would seem like a profile suited to the Premier League, a player who caused Arsenal some issues during their Champions League knockout tie this season.

That being said, Fabio Paratici has recently told Tottenham to prioritise a different Brazilian signing.
