Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in signing one of Arsenal’s best players this summer.

Mikel Arteta has built an amazing squad at Arsenal. The Gunners are challenging for the Premier League title for the second season in a row, and the stock of many of their players has gone up considerably.

One player, in particular, has been unbelievable for Arsenal since the start of the 2022/23 season. Clubs like Real Madrid are now keen to sign him this summer.

Real Madrid and two European giants eye move for Arsenal’s William Saliba

Arsenal signed William Saliba back in the summer of 2019, when Unai Emery was still at the club.

The Frenchman was immediately sent back on loan to Saint-Etienne, and everyone expected him to get an opportunity at the Emirates once he returned.

However, Mikel Arteta sent him out on loan on two more occasions, first to OGC Nice and then to Marseille. Both of those spells were hugely successful.

Saliba returned to Arsenal at the start of the 2022/23 season, and he became a mainstay at the back.

The Frenchman had an unbelievable season and if it wasn’t for his injury in the business end of the campaign, Arsenal probably would’ve won the title. He was that important to them.

Now, after another incredible season at Arsenal, Saliba has become a wanted man.

CaughtOffside claim that European heavyweights Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing Saliba this summer.

It has been claimed that the three clubs are all looking for a new central defender, and Arsenal’s number two is in their sights.

However, the report claims Real Madrid and the two other clubs will have to pay over £85 million to have any chance of signing Saliba, who Carlo Ancelotti really appreciates.

Arsenal, for their part, have absolutely no interest in letting him leave. The Gunners are reportedly planning to offer him a new deal as well this summer, even though he signed one in July 2023.

What is Saliba’s current transfer value?

William Saliba is one of the best central defenders in the world.

The Frenchman joined the Gunners for just £27 million (Goal) in the summer of 2019. That fee looks like an absolute bargain now.

Arsenal have no plans of selling Saliba – they aren’t even thinking about it. However, if they do decide to let him go, they will surely make a massive profit.

CIES Football Observatory reveals that Saliba is currently the most valuable defender in the world. He is valued at €100 million (£85m) – more than any other centre-back or full-back.

If it comes to it, Arsenal would surely demand much more than the above figure for Saliba if clubs come calling. He is levels above players like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who both cost over £100 million in 2023.
