Newcastle United are eyeing a move for a highly-rated forward this summer transfer window, according to a recent report.

The Magpies ended the campaign in seventh place, thus qualifying for the UEFA Conference League despite multiple injury crises.

Eddie Howe has come through huge scrutiny and now looks well-placed to lead a mini rebuild in the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

With that said, it has just emerged that Newcastle are eyeing a move for a forward who Kylian Mbappe really rates.

Newcastle United eye move for Rayan Cherki

Newcastle United are eyeing a move for Lyon’s maverick Rayan Cherki, who is also appreciated by Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach, according to Sports Zone.

The French youth international netted three times whilst laying on eight assists last term and is understood to have a £21m price tag with his contract due to expire next year.

Mbappe took to X a few years back and hailed him for his display as a 16-year-old for the Ligue 1 outfit.

It’s evident Mbappe and chiefs around France really rate him, so he wont be short of suitors this summer.

Newcastle United can offer Rayan Cherki regular football

If Newcastle are to fend off stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain for Cherki’s signature, they’ll have to put forward a convincing pitch.

Howe should offer him regular first-team football – something Les Parisiens wouldn’t be able to guarantee.

That assurance paired with Premier League football could tempt the 20-year-old to depart for the north of England this summer.
