It has just emerged, that Manchester United are considering a move for a ‘high-pressing’ manager to take over from Erik ten Hag, according to a recent report.

The Red Devils have endured a miserable season and look on course to finish in eighth place – their worst finish in Premier League history,

As such, ten Hag has come under huge scrutiny and INEOS, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, seem to be considering a change in the dugout.

With that said, a ‘strong contender’ has just emerged to take over at Old Trafford.

Thomas Frank a ‘strong contender’ for Manchester United job

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is a ‘strong contender’ to be the next man in the United dugout if ten Hag departs this summer, according to the Telegraph.

Frank has impressed United chiefs and it is understood that he has a relationship with INEOS’ Sir Dave Brailsford.

Though, any forthcoming move for Frank could be heavily dependent on the FA Cup final, as United face rivals Manchester City.

Should ten Hag end the season with silverware, perhaps INEOS would find it difficult to move him on.

The new co-owners haven’t made their final decision on his future.

The Brentford boss, who has implemented a ‘high-pressing’ style of play at the West London club, wouldn’t be a massively popular appointment among fans.

Already, the initial rumours have been met with discontent, so perhaps that will play a factor in INEOS’ thinking.

Gareth Southgate has also been linked, though, that wasn’t met with any great optimism either.

For now, ten Hag remains in post and a pivotal end to the season awaits.
