Report confirms two Barcelona players do not apply to Joan Laporta’s “wantaway” claim

On Tuesday, Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke on a number of issues, including the club’s plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. One of the interesting takeaways from the interview was Laporta’s revelations that a first team player has asked to leave.

The person in question was not named by Laporta, which has led to speculators trying to figure out who it could be. MD have confirmed two of the players that it isn’t: Oriol Romeu and Inaki Pena.

Romeu has been heavily linked with a move away in the summer, having only arrived from Girona last summer. However, it appears at least that he is not pushing for a move away, and the same is said for Pena, who has reportedly been unhappy with his situation at Barcelona over the last few months.

This is not to say that Romeu and Pena will not leave Barcelona, as that is entirely possible. Either player could want away, but for now, they have not made this known to club officials.
