Earlier this week, it was reported that Antoine Griezmann has a ridiculously low release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract, believed to be less than €15m. As it turns out, the figure is even lower than this.

That’s according to Relevo, who have reported that Griezmann can be signed by any interested club for a fee less than €10m. It’s not known what the exact amount is, but regardless, it is still incredibly cheap for a player of his quality.

Understandably, this speculation could cause plenty of nerves among Atleti supporters, with Griezmann being the talismanic figure in Diego Simeone’s squad. Rest assured, a deal is very unlikely to happen unless the player himself actively looks to leave, which certainly won’t happen this summer.

Griezmann may receive further interest during this summer’s transfer window, but his mind is set on continuing as an Atletico Madrid player. He will continue to be crucial going forward.
