Aston Villa have just submitted a bid to sign a ‘top level’ World Cup winner who Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola loves.
The Villans enjoyed a phenomenal season in Unai Emery’s first full year in charge, having joined in October 2022.
They ended the campaign in fourth, thus qualifying for the illustrious Champions League and that’ll certainly help to attract elite players on the continent.
With that said, they’ve just launched a proposal to sign one.

Aston Villa submit £12.8m bid for Marcos Acuna
Aston Villa have reportedly submitted a £12.8m bid to sign Sevilla left-back Marcos Acuna, who Pep Guardiola has described as a ‘top defender’.
The 56-cap Argentina international has been a long-term target of Villa’s and was heavily rumoured to join them last summer.
Now, Emery has returned to the table with an offer in the hope of finally landing the World Cup winner.
Acuna has a wealth of experience playing in the Champions League and Europa League, so the Villa boss is clearly eager to add that to his ranks ahead of next season.

Aston Villa face competition from Galatasaray
Villa likely won’t be alone in their pursuit of the 32-year-old, as Turkish giants Galatasaray are also thought to be in the race to sign him.
Indeed, the lure of Premier League football may put the West Midlanders in pole position and Emery’s pedigree may also have a say.
Anyhow, if they are to land Acuna’s signature, he’d be a shrewd acquisition.
