Arsenal are ready to try and open talks with one Premier League rival over their 24-year-old should they receive an indication that they could get a deal done for £60 million this summer.

All eyes are on which players Arsenal push the boat out for this summer after coming so close to ending their wait to win the Premier League title, with Mikel Arteta’s side only denied on the final day of the campaign.

Clearly, many of the foundations are in place, but Arsenal are now looking for the final pieces of the jigsaw, and it seems that one of those pieces is a wide player who can rival Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal have held discussions over a potential move for Nico Williams, while they are also admirers of Michael Olise following his outstanding season with Crystal Palace.

Arsenal could look to open Pedro Neto talks

However, Give Me Sport reports that the Gunners signing either player is looking increasingly unlikely, and thus, Pedro Neto is moving up the wishlist.

In fact, the report claims that Arsenal will be prepared to open talks with Wolves over a move for Neto should it appear that he can leave Molineux for £60 million.

Neto absolutely flew out of the blocks at the start of the season, ending the campaign with nine assists for Gary O’Neil’s side in the Premier League.

However, he missed two large parts of the season due to injury, so he did not add to his tally of goals and assists after February.

Gunners have concerns about Wolves winger

Unsurprisingly, it appears that Neto’s injury record does leave Arsenal with their reservations about a potential move, with David Ornstein previously suggesting that he was falling down the wishlist at that point.

Perhaps Arteta is less concerned about Neto’s injury record given that he plays, at his best, in the same position as Bukayo Saka. That takes some of the pressure off of both men if they are often vying for the same place in the side.

He has been labelled a ‘special’ talent, so it could be a real coup if he can finally enjoy some luck with injuries.

And if Wolves need to bring funds in over the coming months, then perhaps there may be scope for the two clubs to reach a compromise over a fee.
