During the break, Rodrygo’s Brazil faced off against Messi’s Argentina, with Nicolas Otamendi’s header securing a victory for Argentina. However, a notable incident occurred when Rodrygo and Messi engaged in a heated exchange.
Although the content of their exchange remains undisclosed, reports suggest Rodrygo accused Argentina of playing defensively, labeling them as “cowards,” a remark that reportedly angered Messi.
Following his goal in Madrid’s 4-2 triumph over Napoli, Rodrygo was questioned about the clash with Messi earlier in the month. He responded with a smile, stating, “I can’t talk about that. Madrid won’t let me!”
The altercation with Messi occurred during a match marred by violent clashes between police and fans, and the unsavory incidents extended to Rodrygo, who disclosed that he faced racist abuse on social media due to his exchange with Messi.
