PSG President Mocks Florentino Perez Over European Super League Video

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez faced mockery from PSG’s Nasser Al-Khelaifi after posting a video supporting the European Super League.

Perez’s speech, delivered in front of Real Madrid’s Champions League trophies, prompted PSG’s president to mock him on X (formerly Twitter).

In the video, Perez said, “This day will mark a before and after. It is a great day for the history of football and for the history of sport.”

Al-Khelaifi responded, “Strange to talk about the Super League with the UEFA Champions League trophies behind you.”

On Thursday, A22 revived its Super League project after the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that UEFA and FIFA unlawfully blocked the competition when it tried to launch in 2021.

Real Madrid and Barcelona remain the only two clubs supporting the competition, while PSG has openly opposed it. UEFA has maintained a strong stance against the Super League.

Launching a European Super League appears nearly impossible without the backing of clubs from the Premier League, Serie A, and Bundesliga.

Nonetheless, Perez remains hopeful that Real Madrid will receive a substantial financial reward for their continued support.
