TBR Football recently shared that Arsenal could sell Tomiyasu for the right place, even if there are three other defenders the club would prefer to say goodbye to first.

But either way, Arsenal’s defensive situation is looking very healthy, and Calafiori’s arrival should make a big difference.

That being said, as well as his excellent one vs one defending and his marauding runs down the right, overlapping Bukayo Saka, White is also known for his dark arts, so to speak.

Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, who has arguably been the club’s most important signing in recent years, seems to have set White up with a specific task from corners in particular.

Videos are often shared around social media of White harassing opposition goalkeepers during Arsenal’s offensive corners, usually to good effect.

However, a Premier League rule change may now be to White’s detriment, meaning he might need to be a little more honest in the opposition box in future.

White currently likes to do anything to put off the opposition goalkeeper, whether it’s blocking, distracting or just being an all round nuisance.

But via The Times, goalkeepers and defenders are now going to be better protected during set pieces.

There will be several changes to VAR protocol this season, including the popular decision to calm down the policing of handballs.

But pertinently for White and Arsenal, blocking or obstructing by an attacker at set-pieces will now be more harshly punished.

The report shared: “The offence of holding (ie blocking or obstructing) will be penalised more stringently in set pieces, when an attacker is trying to stop the movement of an opponent.”

Evidently White will need to change his tactic, but in all honesty, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Jover already had a new trick up his sleeve.
