Predicted Teams Spain-Georgia: Luis de la Fuente takes no chances for Euro 2024 showdown

On Saturday, Germany defeated Denmark 2-0 to book their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024. They will take on the winners of Sunday’s showdown between Spain and Georgia, as the tournament’s only side with a 100% win rate looks to continue that on.

La Roja are firm favourites to progress, although Georgia will be very tough opposition. There is sure to be no repeat of the 7-1 victory from Tbilisi last year, and despite reports that some players could be rested, head coach Luis de la Fuente is prepared to take no chances.

As per Sport, Spain will name their strongest line-up for the match – the one that started against Italy on MD2. It means that Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand will play, despite both players being one yellow card away from suspension.

Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal and Alvaro Morata will be the attacking trident for Spain, and they will need to find a way past a familiar opponent: Giorgi Mamardashvili. The Valencia goalkeeper has been in sublime form at Euro 2024, and he will need to be at his best again if the Georgians are to pull off another shock.

This should be a very tasty encounter. Spain should have more than enough to defeat Georgia for the third time in 12 months, but it won’t be straightforward.
