Atletico Madrid and Juventus have been strongly linked with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in recent months, as he found himself lower in the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou.
Despite making 21 Premier League appearances, only five of those were as a starter.Hojbjerg’s lawyer, Lars Halgreen, clarified to Sky in Germany on Monday, stating, “Despite the rumors and background noise, the player was always focused on helping the team, coaches, and Tottenham.
The player never asked for a change. He has great ambitions with Tottenham and Denmark.
His only focus is Tottenham to finish the season well and to help as much as possible.
“When questioned on Deadline Day about confirming his lawyer’s stance, Hojbjerg jokingly responded, “When the lawyer says it, I think we have to listen! So, yeah, I can confirm that.”
Despite acknowledging a reduced role this season, Hojbjerg affirms his commitment to the task under Postecoglou, stating, “I definitely feel I can help the team.
The key is that we are playing for something. I always said in the past like I say now, what drives me is the purpose of fighting for something, and I definitely feel that Tottenham is fighting for something.
“Recent reports suggested Hojbjerg’s future at Tottenham could be linked to the pursuit of Conor Gallagher.
However, with Gallagher’s transfer valuation near £60m, a figure deemed too high for Spurs, the connection remains uncertain.
Postecoglou has clarified that he doesn’t anticipate any further signings before the window closes, indicating satisfaction with the current squad available to him.
