Former Serie A champions Milan have confirmed that Stefano Pioli will depart the club at the end of the season.

It was expected that the announcement about Pioli’s exit would come soon and the decision was already made by the Rossoneri and the club have now confirmed that the next game against Salernitana will be the last game of Pioli’s managerial stint at Milan, as he now departs the club.

Talk was rife and it was recently reported that discussions between the club and the Italian’s entourage were ongoing for weeks now to come across an agreement over a termination fee, with Pioli informed about the decision fairly recently.

Pioli will always go down as an important manager in Milan’s history, as he took them back to the Champions League and won them the Scudetto for the first time since the Max Allegri era. He has always come up with solutions to problems in the side and even this season could have been worse, but he still managed to turn things around the made sure that the club finished inside the top four.
