Title holders Rangers defeated Ikorodu City 1-0 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Wednesday.

Skipper Collins Ugwueze scored the winning goal for the visitors in the 25th minute following a corner-kick from Kazeem Ogunleye.

It was Rangers’ first win in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.

Ikorodu City are still searching for their first win of the campaign.

Former champions Enyimba defeated Lobi Stars 2-1 in a keenly contested encounter in Aba.

Ufere Chinedu opened scoring for Enyimba in the 13th, while Ekwutoziam Eze doubled the advantage from the spot three minutes later.

Adebayo Waheeb reduced the deficit for Lobi Stars eight minutes before the break.
