Former Serie A champions Napoli have already held a key meeting for the potential signature of manager Antonio Conte.
While it was thought that Conte was not on Napoli’s shortlist for managers anymore and the Partenopei were looking to sign Stefano Pioli or Gian Piero Gasperini, the ex-Tottenham seems to be back in the frame. And rather importantly so.
SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedulla (via CN24) has reported that Napoli have already held a key meeting with Conte and it took place last Saturday. Parties are looking to work towards a potential agreement over a salary and currently, it looks to be at €7 million per season and a couple million of bonuses.
No agreement has been reached yet, but it seems as Napoli’s loss to Bologna has convinced club CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis into going back into the fray for Conte and as of now, other candidates for the role are well and truly out of the way. It seems as if Napoli are quite intent on the Italian.
