Manchester United fans were told to expect a quiet January transfer window by the club’s football director despite the team’s need for improvements.
The team currently sits in seventh place in the Premier League and is out of European competitions. Including the Carabao Cup and this has led to underwhelming performances and results, putting pressure on manager Erik ten Hag.
The upcoming transfer window in January could offer a chance for United to bolster their squad for the remainder of the season.
Most fans believe that the team needs strengthening, particularly in the attack. However, signs point towards limited incoming transfers.
During a recent fans’ forum, Football Director John Murtough hinted at a subdued January transfer window.
He mentioned that while some peripheral squad movements might occur, major signings aren’t anticipated. Murtough stressed that the club sees the summer as the optimal time for recruitment.
Additionally, Murtough assured that United will comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. Despite the recent news of Everton’s ten-point deduction for breaching financial rules.
