The midfielder, sidelined for eight games due to a hamstring injury from a 3-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on November 1, is making progress.
In an official statement on the club’s website, Manchester United revealed, “Casemiro has commenced on-pitch training, intensifying his recovery for Manchester United.
On Sunday, the midfielder was observed training individually on the Carrington grass while his teammates engaged in a recovery session.”
Addressing the potential return of both Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez in early November, manager Erik ten Hag expressed uncertainty about their comeback before Christmas due to the nature of their injuries.
He mentioned, “I have some time schedules, yeah, but it’s always difficult to predict that because they can get setbacks during the rehab period, so I’m always holding back a little bit on some issues.
I expect some players back, but Casemiro and Martinez have significant injuries, and I don’t anticipate their return before Christmas. It’s several weeks away.”
