‘Luckily’: Jack Grealish pinpoints moment he knew Man City were going to beat Arsenal to PL title

Jack Grealish has revealed the moment he was confident Manchester City would beat Arsenal to the Premier League title.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished just two points off the pace this season and were powerless to prevent Manchester City scooping their fourth consecutive Premier League crown.
Arsenal barely put a foot wrong during the business end of the campaign as they picked up maximum points in all but two games since the turn of the year.
One of those games came at the Etihad Stadium, with Arteta’s side put in a resilient defensive display to earn a goalless draw. But the Gunners may reflect on the 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa on April 14 with some regret.
Arteta’s side were way below their best on the day and it led to City having their fate in their own hands.
Unsurprisingly, the Citizens were unrelenting and reeled off nine consecutive wins after dropping points at home to Arsenal back in March.
And Grealish has pinpointed Arsenal’s defeat against his former side as the moment he believed City would retain their crown.

Grealish on the Premier League title race
Speaking on talkSPORT, Grealish admitted City were fortunate that Villa had done them a favour by beating Arsenal.
“Luckily, Aston Villa did us a favour when they went to the Emirates and since then it was in our hands,” the City star said.
“When you’ve got a team that we have and the experience we’ve had over the past few years, I’m not going to say I didn’t see anything else because it can always swing back into Arsenal’s favour, but like I said, the players we’ve got and the experience we’ve got in the changing room, I did think we were going to go on to win it.”

A season of progress for Arsenal
Despite a bitterly disappointing end to the season, the progress under Arteta is there for all to see.
The Gunners previously had issues with producing results at the business end of the campaign but there were no signs of such problems this time around.
Arsenal were just unfortunate to come up against a side like City, who are typically unrelenting when the pressure ramps up.
