Manchester United’s centre-back Lisandro Martinez has left fans thrilled with a promising update about his recovery from injury. The dedicated defender has been sidelined due to a foot injury but is nearing his return, as manager Erik ten Hag indicated he anticipates Martinez’s availability around the middle of January.
In an interview with the club’s media, Martinez shared his optimism about his current condition, expressing, “I am really good, honestly. My rehab is going amazingly well. I feel strong, and I’ve been following the prescribed plan with Ibra [Ibrahim Kerem], the physio, who has been amazing. The medical team has been taking excellent care of me from day one, so it’s been really important. Everything is going perfectly for me.”
Despite his eagerness to get back on the field, Martinez acknowledged the importance of caution to prevent any potential setbacks. “We need to be patient,” he emphasized. “I understand that I’ll return soon, very soon. It’s a process that takes time, so we must exercise patience.”
Martinez’s positive recovery progress has generated excitement among fans as they eagerly anticipate his comeback to the team.
Martinez, having faced a similar injury at the end of the previous season, acknowledged the difficulties of being sidelined for an extended period. However, he highlighted how he utilized this time away from the game to enhance various aspects of himself.
“Dealing with almost six or seven months of injury is really tough,” shared the Man Utd defender. “But I draw strength from my family’s values, the spirit of never giving up.
This setback has only made me mentally stronger. It’s challenging, no doubt, but there are no excuses. A part of football, and we must accept it humbly.
This is a period to work harder, focus on gym sessions, self-improvement, tactical analyses – things we can enhance on the pitch.”
“Personally, I value self-improvement because it reflects on the field. I cherish this club and cherish my time here. I feel immensely grateful to be a part of it every day.
Spending time with physios, teammates, and everyone involved is something I truly appreciate. I enjoy conversations, learning, and growing. There’s a lot to learn from everyone.”
“Being just a footballer isn’t everything. I believe there’s more to it. I also spent quality time with my family in Argentina, which was invaluable to me. Their love and support were crucial to me.”
Martinez’s reflections indicate not only his dedication to returning stronger but also his commitment to personal growth, both on and off the field.
