Real Sociedad will be missing midfield star Martin Zubimendi for their Monday night La Liga trip to Barcelona.

La Real are battling for UEFA Europa League qualification, via the top six, in the run in, with Barcelona already over the line in the Champions League running.

As part of their build up to facing Barcelona, the Basque side have received mixed news on the injury front, with Zubimendi ruled out.

The Spanish international missed out on last weekend’s 2-0 league win over Las Palmas and will not be risked despite returning to training earlier this week.

With Euro 2024 on the horizon, La Real will be under pressure to manage Zubimendi’s game time in the final weeks of the campaign, with four league matches left.

Real Sociedad fans will also be concerned they have already seen the last of Zubimendi in San Sebastian with major transfer interest in him led by long standing links to Premier League giants Arsenal.
