The 28-year-old has been one of Bayern’s star players since joining from RB Leipzig in 2015, netting 40 goals in 347 appearances for the Bavarian giants in that time.

Yet, while he still has two years left on his contract, he has been linked with a move away this summer.

Kimmich, who is third captain at the Allianz Arena behind Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller, was previously viewed as unsellable such is his influence on his side.

However, German outlet Kicker claimed earlier this month that Bayern are now open to letting the midfielder leave – with several Premier League clubs now on red alert.

The publication reported that if a club makes a lucrative offer, believed to be around €75million (£64million) Bayern would be ready to talk about a potential transfer.

In a press conference, Kimmich dismissed suggestions he would be leaving Bayern this summer.

Speaking in Japan, where Bayern are competing in the Audi Summer Tour, Kimmich said: “I am very sure that I will play for Bayern next season. I have no other plans.”

Indeed, 90min had claimed City were interested in Kimmich, with Pep Guardiola keen to reunite with the player he managed in Bavaria.

City have been in the market for a new midfielder, having seen Ilkay Gundogan join Barcelona on a free transfer last month.

Furthermore, on Monday, a report from Spanish publication Fichajes claimed Liverpool are considering a bid for Kimmich, who has won 11 Bundesliga titles since moving to Bayern.

Indeed, despite having already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool will be interested in further midfield reinforcements due to the imminent departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
