Jadon Sancho’s future is increasingly uncertain leading up to the January transfer window, with Manchester United struggling to attract interest in the winger.
The 23-year-old, currently excluded from the senior team under coach Erik ten Hag, is on the club’s transfer list.
Earlier potential suitors like Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have reportedly lost interest, complicating matters for United, described as a “nightmare” scenario.
Despite speculation about a return to Dortmund, it seems unlikely as Edin Terzic’s team questions Sancho’s fitness, while Leipzig and other clubs are deterred by his wage demands.
Sancho has made only three appearances for Manchester United this season, with his most recent outing as a substitute in the 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest in late August.
Following this, he was excluded from the squad for the Arsenal match the following week, with Coach Ten Hag attributing it to Sancho’s perceived lack of effort in training.
In response, Sancho took to social media, asserting that he was being unfairly targeted as a “scapegoat,” leading to his subsequent exclusion from the team.
Despite Coach Ten Hag’s statement that Sancho “knows what he has to do if he wants to return,” it seems unlikely for the winger to make a comeback into the United squad. With no apparent route back, Sancho is expected to seek a new club in the upcoming week to alleviate his challenging situation at Old Trafford.
