Tottenham Hotspur have work to do this summer.
Spurs’s form towards the end of the season was, with all due respect, poor, and something needs to change.
Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he wants to overhaul his squad this summer, and according to Fabrizio Romano, this could be a busy summer.
Indeed, speaking on The Debrief, the journalist says that Spurs will be really active this summer, claiming that there could be as many as five signings at Tottenham during this window.
Tottenham could make up to five signings
Romano shared what he’s heard about Spurs’ summer transfer plans.
“They’re looking at different options as a centre striker or as a winger. I expect Tottenham to be really busy. I don’t want to throw out like six or seven names, but they are considering several players and several positions,” Romano said.
“I see Tottenham being really busy, I think it could be four or five signings this summer for Spurs.”
Tottenham need an overhaul
Five signings may be just what the doctor ordered at Spurs.
If Tottenham manage to get these signings right, they will almost be signing half a new starting XI this summer, and that’s precisely what they need.
Numerous players in this Spurs team have been performing to below-par standards as of late, and something has to change.
Of course, signing that many players in a single transfer window won’t be easy and it certainly won’t be cheap, but Spurs do need to make a splash if they’re going to challenge in the way Ange Postecoglou ultimately wants them to.
This could be another exciting summer for Tottenham, and there’s certainly reason to be optimistic ahead of this window.
