Erik ten Hag’s interactions with his Manchester United players after winning the FA Cup at Wembley has now garnered some attention.

In truth, not many gave Ten Hag and his players a hope of beating Manchester City under the famous arch, an understandable conclusion based on the season they had just endured.

It had even been reported that the Dutchman would be sacked by the club regardless of the outcome, his final game as United boss.

However, United’s win in such dominant fashion appears to have bought Ten Hag some time – even if it only turns out to be a week or so.

But it’s now become much harder to part ways with a manager who has delivered two trophies in two seasons, amid difficult circumstances at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s future will seemingly be decided this week following an internal review of the club’s season.

But if reports are to be believed, Man United are already lining up several exciting alternatives.

That being said, journalist Rory Smith did spot a telling moment at Wembley last weekend.

Manchester United players made a point of including Erik ten Hag in celebrations

Speaking on the BBC’s ‘Monday Night Club’, Smith noticed an ‘interesting’ moment between Ten Hag and his players – one that suggested he still had their support.

Smith explained: “Do you not think it was interesting that after the game, immediately after the final whistle, the players did seem to make a point of including Ten Hag in the celebrations, which the players don’t have to do. 

“If you don’t like your manager there are ways of saying we are celebrating and you’re over there. Managers are not always central in celebrations, they’re not.”

Of course, despite all the negativity that surrounds the club, Ten Hag has had a positive impact on the career of several Manchester United players.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have started their career under the Dutchman – arguably the club’s two biggest assets.

Diogo Dalot, who started out of position at left-back at Wembley, has also begun to make big strides under Ten Hag.

And if United do decide to stick by their manager for the final year of his contract, it certainly doesn’t seem as if it will be an unpopular decision with the club’s players.

All that being said, Robbie Savage has been annoyed with comments he’s heard about Kieran McKenna recently.
