Inter slow down in move for Brazil goalkeeper Bento

Serie A giants Inter have temporarily slowed down in their move to sign Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento, who also features prominently for Brazil.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that the Nerazzurri are facing difficulties in their move for the 24-year-old, thereby reducing the Serie A champions’ chances of landing the goalkeeper in the summer. The issue, the report mentions, is largely economic and that is happening despite the fact that Bento has been a target for Inter for over an year.

Athletico Paranaense are not willing to go below €20 million, when it comes to valuation for the 24-year-old and that asking price has brought about a slowdown in the talks. The move hasn’t fallen through but it has forced Inter to look around at other options.

As a result, they have started to keep tabs on Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez, for whom there is a definite margin for talks regarding a potential summer switch. Inter could try a potential initial loan move with the option to buy the 26-year-old on a permanent basis later. The player, as of now, is interested in the possibility of a move.
