Ian Wright has sent a message to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard after the Gunners missed out on the Premier League title again.

Mikel Arteta‘s side pushed Manchester City as hard as they could in 2024. The Gunners dropped just four points this calendar year but still ended up finishing two points behind the champions.

Skipper Odegaard, as you would expect, is heartbroken, and Arsenal legend Wright has now shown him some love on Instagram.

Ian Wright sends message to Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard

Arsenal were excellent for large parts of the 2023/24 campaign.

The North Londoners boasted the best defence in the Premier League, conceding just 29 goals in 38 games. They also scored the second-most number of goals – 91 – just five behind Manchester City.

It was all down to fine margins in the end, and Arsenal’s 2-0 loss against Aston Villa at the Emirates in April proved to be their downfall.

Skipper Martin Odegaard has been feeling the pain of missing out on the Premier League title on the final day of the season.

He took to Instagram to comment on the same and then went on to thank the Arsenal fans for their incredible support throughout the season.

Odegaard also claimed he’s convinced that the future is bright for the club and promised to come back stronger next season.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright saw the Norwegian’s post on Instagram, and he showed him some love with a seven-word message.

“We love you Skip. We go again,” he wrote.

Two Arsenal players admit they didn’t have a good season

Arsenal have nothing to be ashamed of following the end of the season.

The Gunners took the title race to the final day of the campaign, which showed serious improvement. They deserve nothing but praise for what they achieved.

However, two Arsenal players have held their hands up and admitted that they were simply not good enough in the 2023/24 campaign.

One of them is Gabriel Jesus, who wrote on Instagram: “Not the best season for me personally, things didn’t go as I planned, but I couldn’t be prouder of the team I’m part of.

“This group is amazing and we’re showing that season after season. Now it’s time to rest and prepare to be healthier next season. We’ll be back stronger and ready for it! Let’s go, Gunners!”

Oleksandr Zinchenko shared a similar sentiment. A part of his Instagram post reads: “Personally, I completely understand that it wasn’t my best season so far and I promise first of all to all fans and doubters that I’ll be back much stronger.”
