World Cup winner Frank Leboeuf has expressed his disbelief over seeing how much one player has regressed since joining Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag‘s side suffered yet another defeat on Monday, a humiliating 4-0 loss against Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Manchester United deserved absolutely nothing from the game, and one player in particular has come under serious criticism for his performance.

Manchester United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth up to £70 million (BBC).

The Brazilian was one of the best midfielders in the world when he was at the Santiago Bernabeu. He was magnificent for them and played a big part in their five Champions League wins.

When Manchester United signed Casemiro, many fans expected him to take the club back to the top. He produced some very good performances in his debut season too.

However, Casemiro’s performance this season has been really poor.

He has come under a lot of criticism, with many people claiming he has become so much worse since joining Manchester United.

Gary Neville went as far as saying United made a mistake signing Casemiro.

Now, Frank Leboeuf, who won the World Cup with France in 1998, has had his say on the 32-year-old following his performance against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

He said on ESPN FC: “We don’t know what’s going on in the dressing room but how come, from Real Madrid, even if you’re not the player you used to be, you can lose almost everything in almost two seasons?

“I don’t get it. I don’t believe (it) because I was such a fan of Casemiro. What I saw yesterday (Monday) is somebody who lost the appetite, lost the feeling and is not the one that I know with all the football knowledge we’ve seen throughout the years he played for Real Madrid and Brazil.

“That’s not understandable for me.”

Firstly, it’s important to say that Casemiro wasn’t the only Manchester United player who had a bad game against Crystal Palace – they were all really poor.

The Brazilian, however, caused more disappointment among fans for doing things that a player of his experience should never do – like diving in when he should’ve stayed on his feet.

Casemiro just couldn’t deal with the pace of Crystal Palace’s attackers and was dribbled past eight times in the game, which is a shocking statistic.

What makes that stat look worse is that Arsenal’s William Saliba, who Manchester United will come up against next, has been dribbled past just six times all season, in 36 games.

Casemiro has lost his legs, and it won’t be a surprise at all if United let him go this summer.
