Tottenham lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday evening, and despite the fact some of their own fans wanted Spurs to lose, it was a rather spirited performance.

Indeed, Tottenham actually gave City a run for their money on Tuesday, and if Heung-Min Son was able to convert his last chance, this one could’ve ended up a draw.

TalkSPORT hosted a live watchalong for this game on their YouTube channel, and during the broadcast, Jason Cundy reserved some special praise for one Tottenham player.

Indeed, Cundy stated that he though Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played really well against City, claiming that the £15m man was everywhere on the night.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was everywhere

Cundy spoke about Hojbjerg and his performance on the night.

“Oh Hojbjerg, he has done well, he has done well. He’s been everywhere. He’s done the running Hojbjerg, but they’re controlling it now City,” Cundy said.

Hojbjerg’s last home game

Hojbjerg put in a strong performance against City on Tuesday, and that may well be the lasting memory he leaves behind for the Tottenham fans.

Indeed, Hojbjerg has been strongly linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer, and if that move does indeed come to fruition, we’ve likely just seen the Dane play his last match for Spurs in front of his own fans.

Hojbjerg won’t necessarily be leaving Tottenham as a modern legend, but he has been a reliable player for Spurs for a long time who has always been willing to put a shift in and show up when the chips are down.

What was potentially the midfielder’s final game in front of his own fans was a characteristically brave performance as he put in 100 per cent effort in a game that even fans weren’t overly engaged in, and if that is to be his last match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he’s gone out with a performance that sums him up perfectly as a player.
