Girona’s Artem Dovbyk is the favourite to replace Victor Osimhen at Napoli.

According to a report by Vincenzo D’Angelo of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are probing Girona’s Artem Dovbyk and have shortlisted him as a transfer target for this summer. The Partenopei are preparing for life without the services of star striker Victor Osimhen and the Ukrainian international has emerged as the potential heir to the position. 

 Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis likes the profile of Dovbyk as his 20 goals and registering six assists across 30 LaLiga games this season have skyrocketed Girona to play in the Champions League’s new format. 

The 26-year-old is set to be available at an affordable price of around €30 million with no high salary demands and he would be happy to live a life in Italy. 

Napoli have lined up Genoa’s Mateo Retegui as Plan B if they fail to land Artem Dovbyk.
