Germany set a new European Championship record following their huge win against Scotland in the opening game of this year’s edition on Friday.

Goals from Kai Havertz, Florian Wirtz, Niclas Fullkrug, Jamal Musiala and Emre Can sealed a comfortable opening day win.

The four-time World Cup winners will be hoping to land a first European title since 1996.

Also, they have won the tournament three times – 1972, 1980 and 1996.
