Kieran McKenna is the man making all of the headlines at the moment.

The Ipswich boss seemingly has a number of exciting options open to him.

Indeed, McKenna has been strongly linked to both Chelsea and Brighton as of late, while there’s also been a whisper of interest from Manchester United.

Speaking on The Debrief, Ben Jacobs has shared an update on McKenna’s future, and he says that Brighton are ahead of Chelsea in the race to land the exciting young manager.

Kieran Mckenna closer to joining Brighton than Chelsea

Jacobs shared what he knows about the Ipswich boss.

“The position of Leicester and Ipswich is quite calm but both of those managers have release clauses,” Jacobs said.

“McKenna is not only appreciated but a leading candidate for Brighton and they’re further ahead than Chelsea, which is probably why stories came out that Chelsea might enter the mix, because it sends a message to the industry that McKenna should wait and bide his time.”

Kieran McKenna looks likely to leave

Whether it’s Brighton, Chelsea or Manchester United, it looks as though Kieran McKenna will be on the move this summer.

The Ipswich boss is hot property right now, and it looks like he will be on his way out of Portman Road.

It’s almost a shame that McKenna will seemingly leave Ipswich. After all, he’s just led The Tractor Boys to back to back promotions, and his story in Suffolk feels unfinished.

However, when established Premier League teams come calling, it’s hard to say no, and McKenna has been put in a difficult situation.

Where McKenna ends up remains to be seen as he seemingly has a number of exciting options on the table, but it does look as though he will have a new job by the time the 2024/25 season starts.
