Ez Abde likely to depart Real Betis on loan this summer, two La Liga clubs emerge as candidates

Ez Abde took the decision to leave Barcelona on a permanent basis last summer, although his first season at Real Betis was far from successful. He struggled to make an impact in the first few months of the campaign, and in the second half, he was benched by head coach Manuel Pellegrini.

Abde will hope for better in 2024-25, and it’s likely that he will move away from Betis in his pursuit of returning to his best level. According to Sport, it’s probable that a loan deal will be done over the summer, and two clubs are currently vying for his signature: Osasuna, where he spent the 2022-23 season on loan, and Mallorca.

Mallorca are set to appoint Jagoba Arrasate as their next manager, and it is he that coached Abde at Osasuna. He’d love a reunion, and that is a move that he would welcome. Equally, he would also be happy with a return to Los Rojillos.

Abde has completely ruled out a move away from La Liga, which has ended any chance of him leaving Real Betis on a permanent basis. This is bad news for Barcelona, who have a 50% sell-on clause as part of last summer’s agreement.
