Liverpool ensured a perfect send off for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this afternoon by seeing off Wolves and Jamie Carragher was impressed by one player.

The Reds knew they had to get the job done to give Klopp a deserved win in his final stand and they got down to business quickly, going two up inside 40 minutes.

From there, it was a case of if Wolves could hold Liverpool rather than come back into the game and in the end, it was a comfortable enough day for the Anfield outfit.

Of course, Liverpool’s season has been another good one and a number of players have stood out.

With new manager Arne Slot set to come in, there are places to play for.

One man to impress against Wolves was midfielder, Harvey Elliott. And speaking about the youngster during the game, Jamie Carragher has suggested he could be a big player for Slot.

Commenting on the game for Sky Sports, Carragher admitted he’s intrigued to see how Elliott is used under the new manager.

“Every time he’s on the ball, I think his left foot can conjure something,” Carragher said.

“He adds something different and will be interesting to see how the new manager uses him.”

Jurgen Klopp has put plenty of trust in Harvey Elliott this season and he’s played a big role.

However, a new manager does bring new opportunity and Elliott will be keen to ensure he’s right at the forefront of Arne Slot’s mind when he does come in.

Elliott has featured more than 50 times in all competitions this season but in the Premier League, the former Fulham man has played from the start just ten times.

The 21-year-old, then, will be desperate to build on that next season and prove he deserves more chances from the off.

In recent weeks, he’s done himself no harm. And as Carragher mentions here, he does bring about a feeling that something is going to happen when he’s on the ball.
